When doing the twisties in the summer I could rev it for long periods of time near the red-line and never see the temperature rise much above the thermostat temperature. The same thing on long distance high speed highway runs.
I would drive across the state at 75~95 mph in 93 degree weather and it would maintain proper temperature.

I can't say the same about my present low hp WU 2.2 in my Avant.
This engine does not have piston oil squirters or an oil cooler.
On long highway trips in warm temperatures, the engine runs hotter and hotter as I travel faster. I installed an oversized and thicker core radiator and the effect is the same.

So it does illustrate how effective the oil squirters and oil cooler are on the NF.
