We had a 1995 850 turbo wagon and it was one of the biggest automotive POS's I have ever endured. Thankfully we only had it around a year, and that was too long.
My wife loved her Volvos, we have had a few "red block" Volvos (and our boys still have a couple). The only good thing I can say about it was that it was what helped me convince my wife to get into a 1995 A6q wagon instead. Almost 8 years and 100k miles later we did not regret that change in the least! 210k and the A6q is still going strong. There was nothing the 850t could do the A6 couldn't do way better, except raw acceleration, which even that wasn't so good because the 850t liked to spin the right front and stay in one place off the line where the quattro just goes.
