Well... I think I got it...it is SUPER LONG confusing story....but here goes..

When I bought the Car....I had amber corners and fog lights as my DRL with the switch set to auto....good to go.

I Vag my car and only fault I got was...
02104 - Light Detection Sensor (G399)
29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent

Fast forward a week or so... Turns out I have a leak in my ECU box and I get my CECM wet....lotsa crazyness insues for 2 days... I get everything dry and back to normal.....EXCEPT the headlights.

The headlights are now always on and I have to select my fogs to turn them on when the headlights are on via switch.
at this time Vag shows...
01800 - Light Switch (E1)
27-00 - Implausible Signal
My direction in my rear view mirror also no longer works at this time.

Off I go to Ebay and get a new switch...and I wait for it....it gets here today and when I install it...no change.

I hook up vag and still have
01800 - Light Switch (E1)
27-00 - Implausible Signal

I can clear it, but it comes back after I play with the switch a bit.

So I am scratching my head BIG TIME now....so I decide to start from square one...

I log in to 09 (cen elect) and check out the Cent Elect re code function....

Low and behold the value is 00111 ... this value denotes NO light detection sensor installed.....STRANGE

I change the values to 01014 ... this is...

light sensor installed
no trailer switch
xenon headlights
Canada

Everything seems to work fine now... I have fogs and amber running lights when the switch is set to off, and my headlights turn on when I set the switch to auto (dark here now)

so so far so good.. I will continue to troubleshoot it as this week goes by.
