I'm getting familiar with the 1.8T now after a year and the issues I had read about before I purchased were not discomforting given good maint.
ie not much different than my AAN for the prior 14 years

thought's so far, the 2.0T with good maint should have longevity but seems to be far more $'s to keep it that way for a first time buyer than the B6/1.8.. I've read some people stating their motor consumes a quart in 1K miles? heck, that's an extra $40-50 per OC.

not drawing any conclusions yet and I could be living in a bubble for all I know :)
