03 A6 3.0 water pump question

Hi all,
I have a quick question for all the Audi gurus on here. I am aware that the water pump is timing belt driven on the 3.0 engine, however can the water pump be changed without removing the timing belt.

A little back story here. I bought the car with 87k on it and had the timing belt kit done before I picked it up. About 15k later the water pump sized and snapped the timing belt. So they did the job again with minimal cost to me (thankfully). Fast forward another 15k miles and the water pump is once again leaking and whining. With the belt being only 15k miles old it should not need replacement again, so I am hoping that it does not need to come off completely and I can work around it in place.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!
