Yesterday I replaced my thermostat with the mahle/Behr 87°C thermostat and due to the coolant loss I decided to change my coolant entirely. I mixed up fresh 50/50 distilled water and Audi g13. After taking the time to bleed the system of all the air exactly as stated in the faq I let it sit overnight and added more coolant this morning.

It's a brisk 54° F day and I headed to work only to notice that the engine doesn't get up to temperature at all. Today it wouldn't go past the first three bars unless I was stopped. As soon as the needle would hit the first thick white line it would almost immediately drop back down the the 4the line and slowly make its way to the 3rd line.

Any ideas on what's wrong now?

I need to boil my old thermostat to see if it opens and closes at the right temperatures
