I had to remove a shim also

I presume that is because my engine and/or trans mounts are on their way out, or dead. I do have a little bit of wobble I can't explain at cruising speed. Oddly, the front cover mount is still in good condition.

If the motor mounts are bad enough to where you have to remove the shim, you probably need to align the driveshaft...
