My '98 D2Q with 140k is leaking transmission fluid from a very corroded fitting where the lower line meets the transmission cooler (up front by the radiator). I can get at the fitting easily enough, but the line itself quickly disappears up under the engine. Is it feasible to get a new fitting with a short length of hose, and splice that into the existing hose? It would save a lot of work, I think, but I don't know if that could stand up to the pressure. Has anyone done this (or replaced the entire line) before? Thanks.
