I'm doing a fluid/filter change on my D2 A8Q, the second time it has been done in the car's lifetime. The latest problem is that most of the bolts on one side of the pan are rusted and stuck. I'm afraid to torque too hard on them because with the T27 star fitting, I figure it's very easy to strip them altogether. But I'm not sure what else to do. PB Blaster and Kroil haven't helped (possibly because the bolts go straight up so penetration is difficult). There isn't enough room to get a vice grip in there and there aren't any flats for a standard socket to grip. Heat seems like a bad idea in that location, and would probably simply weaken the bolts anyway. So what to do? How do the pros out there deal with this situation?
