tips on getting the oil pump intermediate bearing/shaft off the block?

Guys, I had a oil pump pulley that is getting wobbly and noisy. Took a while and hassle to get in there and managed to take off the three bolts holding the triangular intermediate bearing housing but couldn't get this bearing and shaft off the block. It seemed it was glued to the block. Any pointers to proceed without damaging the mating surface to the block. I am tempted to use a chisel by now after hours of wrestling with it. TIA!
