Rattle/clunking noise coming from driver's side front only when turning right at slow speeds

Diagnosing this will be my fun weekend project...

Will check usual suspects: Control arm bushings & tie-rod ends.
These were ok last time I checked 8k miles ago. It's like driving on the moon here in MI, so my suspension has taken a beating the last few months.

But maybe if I'm lucky it is the infamous steering rack preload adjustment screw that others have mentioned could be the culprit. A few questions: do both front wheels/tires need to be off the ground? And does someone need to rock steering wheel for the bolt to be tightened (otherwise the screw is locked, won't turn)?
