a few times. If the pump stops within 3 seconds then the pump is OK and you probably have a leak somewhere in the system of air tubing.

As noted by others, common leak points are at the drivers door hinge and the trunk lock actuator.

If the pump runs longer than 3 seconds then the pump is worn out. Replacement/rebuild parts can be found on eBay pretty reasonably.
