B1 S1 should be the U.S. passenger side forward most cylinders/exhaust (B1) and S1 is always pre-cat.

Yes, seems to tie off to sensor 7 in Paul's picture.

When you have a code for broken wire though, be sure it isn't the connector on the car harness side. If it is, sensor change out will just end up being extra time and $. BTDT. From experience, that broken wire scenario is usually the outcome on the W12, as well as other W12'er experience. Happens right before or at the connector, so you splice in new leads w/ a replacement connector in that scenario. Dealer bit parts. There is a TSB on it specific to W12's. Not sure on S8 though how much that applies, if any.

Pre-cat sensors are definitely different #'s BTW--they have the heating element and extra wires for it (the heavier gauge ones) that the post cats don't.
