Does the little green LED on your remote blink?

It's hard to see, but there is a built in LED to the right of the chrome hinge pin at the top of the key in the picture above. A neighbor down the street has an 06 A8L and they have been having key problems, like it has no battery in the remote lately.

I was looking at it last night and NEVER saw a LED on my key, at least it never flashed. Their key flashes green a bunch of times (like 1-2 seconds) when you push on it.

Looked it up in my owner's manual today: Battery operation in the Master Key is monitored by a check light. The check light flashes when one of the remote buttons on the master key is pressed. If the check light does not flash, the battery is dead and has to be replaced.

Neither of my two keys for my car have ever flashed.....does yours?

For the first time today I noticed the LED was actually there on my keys.
