x-post - '99 A6 Avant - passengers front door will not stay closed

As the subject says, 2x this morning the passengers door shuts normally - not misaligned, but behaves as if the handle was held open. Finally after a few lite slams, it stayed closed.
I searched around here & AW and didn't find much. The weather here has been dry and it's normally arid (Denver), but temps overnight & this morning were high 20's.

Anyone BTDT? I saw a post where nemasisA6 seemed to have the same issue last year but fixed it with no further explanation.
