I've put 800 pounds of cement / bricks in the back of mine. The car was fine even with the somewhat rough boston roads. I didn't drive very fast... The car otherwise had me and another ordinary human in the front.

I maybe could have put another 100-200 pounds back there. I put it all in the back area, left the rear seats up. I put the load as far foward as possible in the cargo area.

Mine is a 2003 6mt with OEM rear suspension. The suspension inflated to compensate for load changes several times while loading and unloading the bricks / cement.

I've read that some aftermarket air suspensions perform poorly under load, and obviously your suspension will behave oddly with static steel springs.
