So jstoker might have the requisite 20A circuit, but not 20A outlets. I didn't put 20A outlets into my kitchen. In fact the only ones I used anywhere in my house were the spec-grade outlets for my home theatre.

BTW, the one device I saw that used a 20A plug was a large window air conditioner. And you wouldn't use that in a kitchen anyway. :-)

I have also seen commercial amplifiers, such as a Crown MacroTech 2400, which uses a 20A plug. But those are seldom used in houses.
