I'd carefully cut those puffs of seeds off ASAP. then pull the weed. I've been doing that with crabgrass for weeks before each mow.

What I've learned is to keep grass higher to shade weeds ...and overseed in the fall to push them out. Early spring, that's your real chance of fighting weeds...froze over winter and apply a pre emergent. Now...way too late and your fighting an uphill battle.
