column lock...if you erase that fault the car will start again, I've been through that many times.
Also the column does not unlock when you out the key in.
This does not sound like your problem in my opinion.

If it is the steering column module you can send that to get it rebuilt for $500-$600 if I'm not mistaking....look it up in eBay, it's a micro relay and three micro switches that fail inside.
