what's a decent PC desktop these days ? Dell, HP, other?

A friend wants to buy a new desktop computer and is asking my help. But I haven't shopped desktop computers in years. I don't know what's available anymore.
I recommended a Mac mini running fusion... That's what I use for my desktop.
But he isn't ready to make the move to Mac.

So we're looking at an inexpensive computer from one of the big companies. I have no desire to build one for my friend. And he doesn't have the wherewithal to build either.

Primarily it is for bookkeeping. But he wants a good machine that will last a few years.
The biggest requirement is that it has to drive two large hi res monitors. 27", 2560x1440.

Thoughts?
