I think I figured this out. Apparently the AE can resolve names on its local network by putting .local after the name. This is a Mac think it appears. Works on my windows machine and Mac. Name resolution also works for my cable box which is hard wired to the 2wire. I don't really understand how I'm getting name resolution from both routers but it works. The AE must be handing off to the 2wire after it checks it's ".local" domain.

Odd thing is that I can't add multiple DNS servers on the airport, but it seems to automagically work
