Need advice for hazing on roof rails

I bought an A4 avant a few months ago, and noticed it had some hazing on the roof rails and other trim. I figured it was just water spots and I could get it out with a little elbow grease. Well, I finally had some nice weather and decided to give it a shot, and couldn't make any noticeable difference with soap, water, and claybar. I didn't want to get out the polisher and risk making it worse without checking here first, so... Any suggestions?
