seems like like a good thing, not sure I really see a downside.

slip the mag in and drop the slide manually or

slam the mag in and auto drop the slide.

on the upside, it might make you a little faster, and it is just one less thing to potentially mess up.... perhaps at the cost of slowing you down when you bounce to another platform and forget you gotta drop the slide manually. I think you would be able to revert pretty quick so not a big deal.

I've been thinking about perhaps a shield, not if it behaves the same, and the full size, in .40.
