Given letting the amp deliver a full-range signal and allowing the speakers limitations to determine the roll-off is probably sonically superior to introducing any kind of filter. I'd just let the speaker do it's thing.

Depends also on how steep both curves are. Some speakers roll off gently, others fall off a cliff. But no speaker cuts off "just like that" there's always a roll-off.

The cutoff frequency is usually set at the point wherever it rolls off more than 3 dB.
