Looking for feedback on brake pads to use for track days this upcoming season, and would appreciate the wisdom of this august group. Unfortunately there aren't too many choices available for my car (B8 S5). In fact, here's the complete list of pads that I've been able to come up with:
Carbotech XP8 or XP10
EBC Yellowstuff
Ferodo DS2500
Carbotech seems to get good marks, but I have a concern that they must be bedded only on new rotor surface - not on rotors previously used for OEM or other non-CT pads(unless the rotor is freshly resurfaced). So using CT would mean that I would need a dedicated set of rotors for street versus track. I'd be willing to do this if the CT's peform significantly better than the other choices. Some people use Carbotech Bobcats for every day street use, thus eliminating the problem, but Bobcats are not available for my car.
EBC seems to heve fans who love 'em, but a lot of other who hate 'em. Any personal experiences would be appreciated.
Finally, the Ferodo DS2500 seems to be a good choice - not truly a race pad but suitable for "light track days" and high speed driving events. Again - any experiences pro or con?
