Best burb to live in if working in Hyde Park?

Both in terms of commute and general niceness / stuff to do.

Actually considering staying midwest for the long term (to be determined within the next 6-9 months) and if we do, there's no way I'll put up with living in the city for too much longer, especially once kids are in the picture. Really never considered the burbs seriously since we'd planned on just being here for a few years, living in the city (Lakeview).

Current commute is 20-30 minutes, would prefer not to be much outside that.
