in order to access the tops of the valves you need to remove the intake. once removed you can clean the tops of the valves with choke cleaner and tools to remove the carbon. make sure you only clean valves that are close to avoid debri getting into the cylinder. vacuum bleeders work very good to suck the slurry out of the ports.
