First time was pretty smooth and easy. Car (lowered B5 avant) arrived safely and on time. Pick up got delayed a bit over a day, but that may have been related to a snow storm at the time which held up the truck a couple of states away.
The second time was much less smooth. The company he contracted out to drove to the wrong city to pick up the car, so that caused about a 3 hour delay. Delivery was a few days late with no explanation, and the driver outright refused to deliver the car to the original agreed upon location. For this shipment, Eric offered zero help in tracking down the right delivery date, figuring out wtf was up with the driver during pick up, and zero assistance or offer of remuneration for the delivery location cluster F.
Based on the second experience, I won't eliminate him from future consideration for my next shipment, but I also won't call him without checking out the competition first.
Ultimately, he is just a broker who sends the job out to various 3rd parties and they're the ones who handle the actual shipping. If he has a network of excellent shippers that he works with exclusively, then he's a tremendous resource to use. That can be a big 'if,' it turns out.
