house has gone up +60k since we bought it 2.5 years ago. (Which of course is good and bad. Good that your home value goes up, bad that then you have to pay property taxes commensurate with that increase)

Bought it at 303k, now valued at around 360-370k. And ours is a 2600sqft 4/2 with a decent sized yard, and (the catcher) my shop is a 870sqft 4-car gar.....all in a pretty nice neighborhood.

I have much to be thankful for. And I am.

Much better values on this side of the river. Same amount will get you far less house in Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tualatin or elsewhere. Or you've gotta get a ways out of Portland proper. No nice way to say it.
