o ring on the coolant tank cap that had folded out of its groove. I have no idea how it lasted as long as it did. Before discovering it, the last time I had the cap off was prior to a 2200 mile road trip.
On that hot day, coolant pressure went past the o ring and pissed right out the overflow.
