air box, replace or upgrade?

Hopefully last replacement item for a while on my little car! While I was working on the car over the weekend I saw that my air box is in pretty rough shape, all snaps except one are broken (box held together with zip-ties that of course I didn't notice when I bought it :( MAF clip mount is broken, and the box has some cracks.... so all in all time to replace it.

I did some searching and it looks like there are three options/opinions out there 1. stock air box with good paper filter 2. "upgrade" to the RS air box with the vacuum actuated flap or 3. some form of "cold induction" cone filter...

Am I better off with a kit of some kind that has a cone setup that gets cold air from the snorkel, or am I better off hunting around for a stock air box that is in better shape? My car is stock, and might go to stage 1 in the semi near future, but not 100% sure (This car is a poor example of a S4 and I might sell it fairly soon and "upgrade" to a cleaner better example of an S4).

Bill
