I adjusted them to be the same length as the OEM and then jacked up the upright as much as possible to tighten the bushings. I have the same set-up on the driver's side but no issues there

The only other thing I can think of is if I installed the driver's axle on the passenger side and vice versa...is this even possible given the length discrepancy? Or the outside CV joint is blown...they are the OEM originals (240K miles) and I never had an issue prior to this...
