So, I am going to my first track day event this Saturday and would love any suggestions and BTDT advice. The event is a HPDE at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC. I am renting a helmet and plan on bringing tools, tire air pump, gauge, jack, jack stands, fluids, tailgate tent and chair, water, etc. so I have the basics covered however this is just from doing some online research. I haven't talked to anyone in person for advice. So, any helpful hints from those with experience is appreciated.

Also, I looked into track day insurance and got an estimate from Lockton Motorsports for $175 for the day for a $17k vehicle value (keep it down now) with a 10% deductible. Not sure this is worth it since this being a beginner's course I don't expect I'll be running very close to other cars or at very high speeds and CMP is a relatively flat course with what appears to be decent runoff areas. However, perhaps considering the lack of talent on a day like this it's worth the peace of mind?
