I used to hang out on "that other forum which shall not be mentioned" but made the jump here with the mass exodus. I'm located in Southern CT and own a slightly modified Volcano Pearl 2.8. I love my car, but I've always wanted an S4. So I bought one; a stock 2002 Santorin S4 6MT with 98K on it. I must say, coming from a stock 2.8 engine to a stock 2.7t is quite the experience.

Anyway, as far as preventive maintenance issues go, I'm going to have the typical t-belt/waterpump/t-stat job done, but what else should I have done while it's in the shop? (I am mechanically retarded so-to-speak, so the work will be done by an indy who works on my 2.8) Is there any thing about this model year that should be replaced in particular?

Also thinking about performance mods in the near future (maybe a visit to EPL if things work out), but I want to make the car mechanically sound first. Is there anyone in the New Haven area who can recommend an indy who is experienced with these motors? I use JP Motors in Woodbridge, and they do excellent work. Just wondering what my options are.
