Chip Identification: Engine chip sits on scrambler daughterboard copy protection mechanism. Boost chip is normal, no copy protection. Chip labels are white with hand written red ink labels. There are 3 lines horizontally indicating 1. chip & car model, 2. power and MAP sensor rating, and date. Another code is written on the end edge of the label, likely the checksum.

Rumor & Innuendo: Early tuner for AAN & RS2, very well regarded chipsets/tuning. North American dealer was Joe Hoppen Motorsports. Supposedly after early popularity and high demand caused long waits for chips to be sent from Germany, Hoppen was eventually allowed to burn chips locally in the USA to reduce leadtimes and inventory hassles. There are MANY clones identified as "MTM 1+" chipsets, to the degree it has become a defacto generic term. Whether any individual "MTM 1+" chipset without the daughterboard is truly the same code or not is difficult to prove without access to the un-encrypted MTM code itself, however many of these clone chipsets seem to perform quite well. Nonetheless any true MTM chipset should include the daughterboard.

Here is a poorer shot inside an ECU. Label has been torn off Engine chip, but boost chip label remains intact. Bosch 300kpa sensor is missing in lower ECU picture. Normally this will look identical to OEM 250kpa sensor with exception of the pressure rating marking.
