I myself have built a few tools as well like for example some heavy duty tools to remove the top strut threaded ring through the strut tower opening for both OEM and Bilstein shocks etc. It goes w/o saying that local folks are welcome to borrow them at any time.
The OEM tool I machined from a solid steel round stock into which I welded a Chinese made impact socket of a suitable diameter with a 0.5" square tail.
The Bilstein tool I made out of a Lisle outer tie rod removal tool for GM cars into which I welded two pieces of 0.25" square steel stock from a Sears Hardware store.
Here they are in action (not my best hair day but at least the tools look good):
