Carfax can only give bad news about a car, never good. A clean report is completely useless.

The report can tell you what has happened to a car, but can't tell you what has not happened. A clean report simply means nothing was reported, not that nothing bad ever happened to the car.

Carfax is a useful tool, but only to eliminate a car from consideration.
