I have bought AAN engine as cheap as $500 for a long block and $1500 for a complete engine with trans and sensors but no ECU.
Totally depends on condititon too. Is it running and driving in the car now? Compression good? Mileage?
Which LS are you looking at - should be able to get a complete 5.3 with wiring harness , sensors , ECU . And have plenty left over with that you could sell that AAN for.
Don't forget the gas pedal if it's fly by wire !
