Can a bad Gamma radio ruin amplifiers?

About 1 year ago, the right rear channel in my '94 sedan stopped working. I opened the amp and found a burnt capacitor and some pcb damage. It was not a problem because I had a spare amp. I switched just the RR channel amp into the original case and it lasted months.

Some time in December, it happened again to the same speaker. Since all the parts are 25ish years old, I decided it was a coincidence. Yesterday I replaced the entire amp (case included) with one from Brad, and the right rear channel lasted all of 12 hours. It fried itself this morning after about 2 hours of playing time since the install.

The drastic decrease in time before failure, and the fact that I replaced the whole amp, is telling me no way is this just an amp problem. Thoughts?
