some sort of masochist revelation that you enjoy pain? The seat heater loops all connect on the outside edge of the pad so I don't think there is any way one side would get hotter. I believe there must be something else going on there; Maybe it's something sharp in your back pocket. LOL

It is possible for a break in the wire to cause the current to jump the gap (high resistance) and create a very hot spot, burning the leather, so it's best to discontinue use if there are problems.
