He participates in everything the NHL asks him to (and he gets asked for everything) - There's no reason to think he faked injury to miss the ASG.

So if you can acknowledge that he is battling an injury, why the hell would he participate in the meaningless stick time game instead of resting for the meaningful games?


"Penguins captain Sidney Crosby received an injection late Thursday to treat a lower-body injury he suffered during a Jan. 10 game at Montreal.

According to a team source, Crosby had hoped to simply rest the injury, but an MRI was performed, and team doctors deemed an injection -- exactly what was injected is not known -- to be the best treatment.

The Penguins said in a release issued Friday that Crosby will resume skating next Tuesday and could play again either Wednesday at Washington or Friday at New Jersey."
